Howard Cooke and Adam Foster have produced some research on the extent of FTSE 350 listed businesses’ real estate rent liabilities and their costs. There’s lots of interesting data on the size of companies rental commitments, surplus property, costs of real estate per employee etc. and on how this varies between different business sctors. Looking in the rearview mirror, the retail sector seems to look particularly weak with falling profits and static revenue over the last two years.
