Are wicked problems becoming trendy?

Some academic terms will probably never enter mainstream reporting of built environment issues. However, I saw the term “wicked problem” used twice in the Observer on Sunday. Matthew Taylor mentions it in a rather depressing piece on the complexity and intractability of “the housing problem”. When they start discussing actants and socio-material relations, I’ll initiate the self-harm programme.
